Welcome Back – PCA Is Off and Running!
Dear Providence Christian Academy Family,
A new school year always brings excitement and anticipation as students and teachers settle into new classrooms, schedules, and routines. We are grateful to have our students back on campus and to see our classrooms once again filled with learning, laughter, and growing friendships.
This year’s chapel theme is “Running the Race,” based on Hebrews 12:1–2. Throughout the year, we will encourage our students to persevere through challenges, support one another, and keep their eyes fixed on Jesus. Weekly chapels, Trail Badges, and monthly Buddy Days will help bring this theme to life across all grade levels.

We are also pleased to welcome Pastor Ben Emberley as our chapel coordinator, serving alongside his wife, Beth. Pastor Ben teaches high school Bible at PCA and pastors Community Bible Church in Northfield, Massachusetts. Beth teaches lower school music and directs our upper school choir. We are thankful for the gifts and ministry experience they bring as they help lead our students in worship and spiritual growth.

Growing God’s Way in PreK
September has been a wonderful month in PreK! Students are settling into their routines and growing in confidence, independence, attentiveness, and self-control. Through Bible lessons about Creation and Noah, they are learning about God’s love and the importance of obedience. They have already memorized Genesis 1:1 and John 1:3!
Students are also beginning phonics with the vowels I and U, practicing numbers 1–3, and counting to 10. Hands-on activities—including cutting, tracing, puzzles, play dough, and building—are strengthening fine motor skills and encouraging creativity. We are thankful for this joyful beginning as our youngest students continue growing God’s way!

First Grade Is Off to a Great Start!
Mrs. French’s first graders have been busy developing strong learning habits and classroom routines! During Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time, students enjoyed settling in with their books for some quiet reading.

Nora B. also served as the class’s first meteorologist of the year, recording and reporting the weather for the day.
Students are also practicing routines that help the school day run smoothly—including forming a “picture-perfect” line! These simple habits are helping first grade begin the year with focus, responsibility, and enthusiasm.

Curiosity and Cooperation in Third Grade
Mrs. Desautels’ third-grade students have been busy learning together! In science, they are enjoying exploring God’s creation and discovering insects such as woolly bear caterpillars, a katydid, and a stick bug. They have also watched lima beans sprout, measuring their growth and charting the results.
The students are developing strong learning habits in other subjects as well. They recently demonstrated great focus and diligence during a penmanship assignment and have been studying spelling words together in preparation for their tests. This cooperative approach has been both helpful and enjoyable as students encourage one another in their learning.

Encouraging One Another to Run Well
Fourth- and fifth-grade students performed a skit illustrating the Trail Badge, “Encouragement to Run Well.” Through their performance, they showed how our words and actions can help others persevere and keep moving forward in the race God has set before them.

We’ve officially started our race together! In PE this year, students are not only becoming stronger and more active—they are also learning to keep their eyes on Jesus, encourage one another, and persevere when the race gets challenging. Every journey begins at the starting line, and we are excited to see how our students will grow throughout the year as they run with endurance and fix their eyes on Jesus.
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.” — Hebrews 12:1–2

The beginning of a new school year is always filled with both excitement and a few nerves. Our upper school students have already faced the challenges of new schedules, new teachers, and new classes. After clearing those first few hurdles, they are beginning to find their stride—and have some fun along the way!
Our seventh- and eighth-grade students have been especially busy learning how to work collaboratively in science class. When presented with a challenge, they have practiced finding answers independently and then bringing their ideas together as a team. These experiences are helping them grow not only as students, but also as thoughtful problem-solvers and encouraging classmates.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we begin another school year. We are grateful for all God is doing at PCA and look forward to seeing how He will guide and strengthen our students as they continue to run the race set before them.
Blessings, Mrs. Linda Temby Principal
